Professional ice hockey players do not always find themselves on their home ground. With so
many different competitions it is easy for a team to become involved in a variety of international competitions throughout the world. This may not necessarily be the case with Semi-professional teams, but if you are with a professional ice hockey team it is more than likely you will find yourself traveling around the world to compete. The more popular your team the more likely you are to become involved in international competitions. The reason you will not necessarily find this to be the case with semi-professional or amateur teams is because many of them involved players who are not full-time athletes and therefore are not free to travel around the world on a regular basis.
